Listening and learning about early learning
Standards and Assessments
May 11, 2010
In April and May, the U.S. Departments of Education and of Health and Human Services sponsored a four-city listening tour to gather input on topics related to early learning.
Erikson was picked as the site for a discussion on early childhood standards and assessments. On hand to listen and learn were Jacqueline Jones, Education Secretary Arne Duncan’s senior advisor on early learning, and Joan Lombardi, HHS’s Deputy Assistant Secretary and Inter-Departmental Liaison for Early Childhood Development at the Administration for Children and Families.
Four panelists spoke and took questions. The session concluded with statements from speakers representing early childhood agencies and advocates from throughout the Midwest. Audio recordings of the presentations are available here.
